Iris Schmidbauer

Iris chose these studies both because she is passionate about helping others and to support her own career as a professional athlete. She competes in the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series and FINA High Diving World Championships and World Cups, regularly finishing just outside the top five in the world. She also loves surfing and snowboarding.

Since finishing her degree in 2018 Iris has gained most of her practical experience helping fellow high divers and teammates, working alongside diving clubs in Plymouth, Zurich, Dresden and Auckland, with athletes from elite through to junior and amateur level.

Iris believes massage therapy is one of the most underestimated methods for injury prevention, rehabilitation and stress relief. She is qualified in injury assessment and provides therapeutic massage, sports massage, myofascial and soft tissue release, joint mobilising, trigger point and neuromuscular therapy, and can advise on prevention and rehabilitation exercise.
